Advising

Professional academic advisors are available to assist you with your academic advising needs. Advising services are available for all full-time and part-time students. To meet with an academic advisor, please call the Central Campus or the West Campus Student Success Center to schedule an appointment or stop in when you are on campus.

E-learning students are welcome to schedule a phone advising appointment by calling the phone numbers at the bottom of the page or emailing us with questions or concerns.

An ESL advising specialist is available to assist ESL or international students with immigration and Montgomery County Community College requirements. The advisor will guide students through the admissions and testing process, explain testing results, and help with program of study and course selections and with adjusting to the American college system. Call 215-641-6577 and ask for the ESL advising specialist.

Choosing a Career Direction

The Student Success Center at both campuses has written resources and Discover, a computer-based program that assists students with the career-planning process and career choices. The Center offers career decision-making workshops, a semester-long two-credit course in the Psychology of Career Development, and career counselors to help you on an individual basis. Call the phone numbers below for more information.

Transfering Courses to Montgomery County Community College

  1. Have the college or university send an official transcript to the Admissions Office at Montgomery County Community College (Central or West, where you plan to attend).Your transcript will be evaluated, eligible courses will be added to your Montgomery County Community College transcript, and you will be informed in writing of the successful transfer to Montgomery County Community College.
  2. While you are waiting for the official transcript to arrive, bring an unofficial copy to Advising. Advisors will review this with you and help you with course selections based on what will transfer here. No courses will be added to your transcript, however, until we receive the official copy.
