Tutorial Services

Formerly Learning Assistance Lab (LAL)

Tutorial Services is a FREE service and is available whenever school is in session that helps students develop learning strategies based on their unique learning styles. Research has indicated that students who are struggling in a course should start participating in a tutoring program early on in a semester. Students should spend roughly two hours per week per subject with a tutor to help them succeed in the course. Don't get behind. We can help you succeed, come and see to us! Tutoring is provide for

The Foundational Skills Lab, or Skills Lab, is a multimedia skills laboratory, and offers students the opportunity to brush up on and master

  • basic skills (math, reading, and writing)
  • supplement learning in (biology, chemistry, history/civics/government, geography, foreign language, psychology, and physics)
  • receive standardized test preparation on the College's placement test (Accuplacer) and the teaching licensure exam (Praxis)

In addition, many faculty in ENG 010 and 011; MAT 010, 010B, 011, 011B; and REA 010 and 011 work in partnership with the Skills Lab to offer their students integrated laboratories so that students may work weekly one-on-one with tutors who specialize in aiding students in these courses.
