AUT 130 Engines

This course will introduce the student to the mechanical workings of the internal combustion engine. It will develop skills in measurements, understanding tolerances and repairing internal combustion engines. It explains how the various systems are designed, manufactured, diagnosed and serviced. The metallurgy, design, sealing and gasketing of an ICE are taught both in lecture and shop. The use of precision tools used in the mechanical diagnosis and repair of an engine is discussed and practiced. Preparation for the ASE A1 Certification exam.
