DAN 121 Fundamentals of Ballet I

This course provides an introduction to the theory, practice, and aesthetic foundations of classical ballet. Students will learn the foundations of classical ballet technique emphasizing correct body placement. The class will include exercises at the barre, center work, simple turns, jumps, and traveling movements. The course will include an overview of ballet history. This course meets General Education Core Goal 7: Aesthetic Sensibility and the Arts and Core Goal 10: Exercise and Health Sciences.
