EDU 233 Early Childhood Curriculum & Administration

Credits: 3.00

Early Childhood Curriculum is a comprehensive course that addresses all aspects of teaching young children based on the framework of the 'creative Curriculum. The Creative Curriculum defines what to teach, why the content and skills are appropriate, where, when and how to teach effectively. It is linked to assessment and families and based in current theory and research. We explore both the Infant/Toddler and Preschool age groups. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to various approaches to curricula with emphasis on emergent curriculum. Students will be expected to develop appropriate curricular strategies to be used in any early childhood program. It is highly recommended that this course be taken at the same time as student teaching EDU 250 or EDU 140.
