EDU 270 Field Exp. for Paraprofessional in Education

Credits: 6.00

This course serves as the culminating field experience for Paraprofessional in Education Program. Students will spend 15 hours per week in an educationl setting working under the direct supervision of a teacher. The student's responsibilities will vary depending on the particular field setting but could include any of the following: work with individual students or small groups on skill development or social skills, assist teacher in clerical duties as requested, assist teacher in creating a positive learning environment, assist teacher in assessment strategies, assist teacher in grading. A faculty member from MCCC will arrange the placement and will work closely with the student and teacher throughout the semester. A student who is already working in an education setting may use that setting for the field placement provided that individual arrangements are agreed upon by the MCCC faculty member, supervising teacher and student.
