E-Learning is defined as learning that takes place when instructors and learners are separated by time or space (or both). E-Learning has become increasingly popular in higher education over the last several years because it offers several benefits, including access to education for people removed from a college campus (by distance or health condition) or who are unable to keep a regular schedule because of work or family responsibilities. It provides them the chance to pursue a degree that might otherwise not be attainable.
“Students are encouraged to check pout the College’s summer online courses, as they offer flexibility around the course, work and vacation,” says Dr. Doreen Fisher, Director of e-Learning. “An online course provides students with a quality learning experience while allowing the flexibility to complete and submit course requirements from any computer with Internet access.”
Students can currently complete nine associate’s degrees and one certificate at Montgomery County Community College entirely through e-Learning, as well as hundreds of courses in other degree and certificate programs. For more information about e-Learning, visit www.mc3.edu/elearning.
