E-Learning

StudentE-Learning has become increasingly popular in higher education over the last several years because it offers several benefits, including access to education for people removed from a college campus (by distance or health condition) or unable to keep a regular schedule because of work or family responsibilities. It provides them the chance to pursue a degree that might otherwise not be attainable.

Three e-Learning Formats

Online

An online course is a course in which delivery of course content occurs through the internet by utilizing various technologies to foster learning at a distance without requiring face-to-face instruction on campus.

Hybrid

A course section that blends face-to-face and online instruction to meet the desired learning outcomes. This blended approach capitalizes on the best features of both in-class teaching and online instruction, while promoting independent learning by reducing seated class time. While the number of seated and online hours varies, the approximate instructional ratio is 60/40.

Videoconference Course

A Videoconference Course is a course which is conducted simultaneously at two or more locations such as our Blue Bell and Pottstown Campuses via two-way audio and video transmissions. The faculty member is present at one site location but able to interact and conduct class with students at all remote locations succinctly by using videoconferencing to share documents and facilitate discussion among learners.
