Philip Needles

Philip Needles was named Vice President of Student Services in June 2016. He transitioned into that role after serving as MCCC’s Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management since July 2015. As Vice President of Student Services, Mr. Needles provides leadership for MCCC’s student success initiative and oversees all aspects of student services. These include academic advising, counseling, testing, veterans services, student leadership and involvement, disability services, admissions, registration and financial aid.

Mr. Needles began his career in education at the University of Miami School of Business Administration, where he was Assistant to the Dean for Planning and Assessment.  He also oversaw the school’s Entrepreneurship Program and was recipient of the school’s “Excellence in Teaching Award.” He later served as Assistant Dean for Strategy and Planning at University of Missouri-Kansas City’s (UMKC) Bloch School of Management and as program manager for UMKC’s Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Prior to arriving at MCCC, Mr. Needles served as dean of the Institute for Business and Information Technology at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Wash.

Professionally, Mr. Needles has served as a Content Consultant for Walt Disney Internet Group International; Director of Programming for Disney TeleVentures; and Senior Consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He also co-founded and oversaw business operations for an integrated entertainment experience media company. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami.
