Our Blackboard system has been updated to version 6.3. In addition to bug fixes, there are a number of exciting new features.
- Review Status - Students can mark when they have reviewed a page and Instructors can use this information for adaptive release options.
- Adaptive release - Instructors can create custom learning paths through materials and activities
- Advanced Assessment Questions - Calculated formula, Calculated numeric, File upload, Hotspot, Either/Or, Fill in multiple blanks, Jumbled sentence, Opinion scale/Likert, Short answer
- Assessment Question Completion Status - Students can skip questions and clearly see which questions they need to complete.
- Performance Dashboard
- Advanced Navigation Bar
- Gradebook Null Option
Although no training is necessary, check the CTL schedule for the "Blackboard New Features" workshop to get the basics.

Teams LX - Group Learning through Wiki Sites
Teams LX makes online collaboration between students not just a goal, but reality. For the first time, instructors can organize students into groups and assign each group to jointly author a dynamic website with multi-media content. And when the Teams site is done, instructors can view each group member's contributions and grade them accordingly. more info
Search LX - Mining Academic Content through Full Text Search
Search LX is an essential tool for finding course content with speed and accuracy. The course search box and advanced searching options streamline content retrieval. more infoJournal LX - Blogging as a Learning Tool
With Journal LX, instructors can create blogs in which students can gather information and reflect on course-related topics and assignments. Students can review and comment on their peers' postings, and instructors can participate with students in the evolving dialog. more info
