Blackboard—Gradebook
Utilizing the Gradebook feature in Blackboard provides convenience for you and your students in class. This seminar will show you how to enter grades in Blackboard, providing students grades that are immediately available through the web.
Blackboard—Quickstart
This two-hour session is intended for faculty who are new to Blackboard and will be using it as a supplement to their face-to-face classes. You will learn how to use Blackboard, add content to your course site, and basic administration tools. Bring your course materials, as there will be time at the end of the program for you to get started with your own course. Enrollment is limited to 20.
Blackboard—Part 2
A more advanced approach to using Blackboard tools to enhance the learning experience. Tools covered will include the following: Online Quizzes, Gradebook, Assignments, Digital Dropbox, Course Customization, and Course Copying options. This session is a great compliment to the Blackboard Quickstart Workshop.
Blackboard—Upload Documents
Learn how to make use of your teaching materials made available to you and your students through Blackboard! Items such as Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, PDF documents and more can be uploaded and made available through the web.
Clickers
Attend this demonstration of the e-instruction Classroom Performance System (CPS - also known as "Clickers") to see how you can engage students by promoting discussion, involving students in the back row, and assess where your students are instantly. While the demo will show the features of the system there will also be time to discuss how it could be used.
Dreamweaver
Dreamweaver is of the premier editing packages for creating, publishing, and managing web sites. It has many visual tools that eliminate the need to write tedious code allowing you to create tables, add images, edit text, view and edit HTML code, and more with ease. Its site management tools are extensive, but simple to use. This seminar will include instructions on using the Dreamweaver tools to create great looking pages in a short time.
Don't Tell Me About It, Take Me There! A Journey through Digital Storytelling
This hands-on session will show you how to take visual literacy into your classroom by combining images, words, voice or music into a digital format with Microsoft Photo Story

NetOp Training
NetOp School is a software package for PC based classroom training. Its features allow for interactivity within a computer networked classroom. Effective teaching tools provided by NetOp School include: Broadcasting the teacher's screen to the entire classroom; Monitoring classroom screens; Supervising and controlling classroom activity.

Online Faculty Certification Program Series
Must Register Online ~ One of a series of workshops serving as the basis for becoming credentialed to teach online courses at MCCC. At the completion of these workshops, along with special hands-on technology workshops offered by the Information Technology department, participants will work to create lessons for their proposed courses. WebAdvisor Class List
Obtain your class list for the current semester before even meeting your students. Faculty can acquire their class list via WebAdvisor to see how many students are enrolled in their class.
WebAdvisor GradeBook
Through WebAdvisor, faculty can enter midterm and final grades at any time and anywhere there is an internet connection. Faculty is required to enter final grades in WebAdvisor at the end of every semester.

Learn just how "painless" it can be to enter your grades! This seminar will review how to login to WebAdvisor, and take you through the procedure for electronically entering your grades.

You've prepared a brilliant presentation to present to your colleagues. You are very excited with your finished product and have practiced many times to ensure that your presentation runs smoothly. However, there are those few times when technology will fail and are you prepared to handle it? The following objectives will discuss some of the things that you can do if you are ever in this situation. 1. Learn how to troubleshoot your equipment. 2. Be prepared for unexpected developments and/or surprises. 3. Always backup your files - Do you have a backup plan? 4. Plan ahead - Do you have a Plan B. 5. Don't panic.

If you are interested in learning about some of the newest collaboration tools in BlackBoard, this hands-on workshop is for you. Wiki's (Hawaiian for something quick) is a wonderful way for groups to interact and collaborate on a shared web space. Blogs promote personal reflection as well as commentary and interaction. See how new tools work and how they can be effectively implemented as part of your course.
WorldWind
Worldwind is open source Windows software that lets you zoom from satellite altitude into any place on Earth. This software leverages Landsat satellite imagery and Shuttle Topography Mission data. In this course, you will learn various methods of navigating Worldwind as well as using Worldwind's Hotspot Finder.
