Blackboard: How do students log into Blackboard?

    Students can log in to Blackboard by following the steps below.

    1. Direct your web browser to https://my.mc3.edu, or click the Blackboard link under E-Learning on MCCC's homepage at www.mc3.edu.
    2. Enter your username and password in the fields provided. Your username and password are the same as your network credentials. Click login, then click the Courses/Blackboard button on the next screen to enter Blackboard. In order to change your password, you need to change it on the network.

General: Are there any tutorials available regarding the use of web resources at MCCCC?

    Student IT resources are available on the web by accessing the following: http://www.mc3.edu/it/st/st_comp.html. This site provides students with both interactive and text-based information on how to use web resources at Montgomery County Community College, such as:

General: What documentation is available?

Microsoft Word: How can I open a Word document from home if I do not have Microsoft Word installed on my home pc?

    Students who do not have access to Microsoft Word, but need to view Word documents, can download and install the Word viewer available from the Microsoft Office Download Center. The viewer is free and will allow students to open, view, and print Word documents. Word documents cannot be edited using the Viewer.

Network: How do students log in to the Network and to library databases?

    Students can log in to the network and to the library databases with your MCCC ID, which is created automatically when you register for a class. It is printed on your photo ID card. It will be the combination of:

    • the first letter of your first name,
    • up to the first 15 characters of your last name,
    • and the last four digits of your MCCC ID (Student ID). Your Student ID is a seven digit number printed on your Class Schedule OR your invoice (it appears as your ACCOUNT number).

    For example, if your name is John Smith and your Student ID is 1234567, your MCCC ID will be jsmith4567. Your password is initially set to your MCCC ID (Student ID).

Network: What access do I get when I log in to the Network?

    Student network access includes the full Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet and any application associated with their current semester classes.

Webadvisor: How do students log in to WebAdvisor?

    Students can log in to WebAdvisor with your MC3ID, which is created automatically when you register for a class. It is printed on your photo ID card. You may also look it up on Webadvisor by clicking on "What's my User ID?". It will be the combination of:

    • the first letter of your first name,
    • up to the first 15 characters of your last name,
    • and the last four digits of your MC3ID (Student ID). Your Student ID is a seven digit number printed on your Class Schedule OR your invoice (it appears as your ACCOUNT number).

    For example, if your name is John Smith and your Student ID is 1234567, your ID will be jsmith4567. Your password is your Network password. Documentation with pictures is available.

Wireless: What access do I get when I make a wireless connection on campus?

    When you make a wireless connection on campus, you only get access to the Internet and other web-based applications (i.e., blackboard, email).
