How to ChooseIf you will be taking 12 or more credits then you are considered a full time student. This is important as it may affect your financial aid package and/or insurance coverage. Part time students may be eligible for less financial aid and may be ineligible for their parent’s health insurance benefits.
Keep in mind other responsibilities you have as you create your schedule. Most of our students have jobs or other personal responsibilities that need to be kept in mind as you select courses.
Full time is defined as 12 semester hours (or more). Because of other responsibilities some students are not able to take a full time course load. We recommend you plan to spend at least 2 hours outside of class for every hour you attend a class. Build your schedule based on the true time you have to devote to school. Your advisor can help you make the best choices based on your schedule!
