Faculty Diversity Initiatives Support Grant Application
Overview
To further our mission and strategic plan, the College invites applications for the 2007-2008 Faculty Diversity Initiatives Support Grant. The grant is designed to provide the recipient with time to support teaching and learning aimed at developing a more inclusive college community. Possible projects include research on incorporating diversity themes into existing courses, developing new courses that pertain to issues of diversity, and using specific teaching methods (e.g., teams, case studies) to enhance students diversity experiences. Full-time and part-time faculty members are encouraged to apply.
Criteria for Applications
Here are the steps normally involved in designing a proposal.
- Research your proposed concept
- Prepare a concept proposal (hereinafter, Submission) to selection committee
- All submissions should be 3-5 pages in length and must include
- a description of proposed project
- an explanation of how it will further faculty and student participation in diversity efforts and move the College toward a more inclusive community
- a statement regarding past achievement and or interest in the area of diversity in at least two of the following area; curriculum and pedagogical development
- must be submitted via email at ealmonte@mc3.edu
Faculty Diversity Initiatives Support Grant Honors
- The recipient shall receive faculty release time (one course for one semester in 2007-2008)
- The recipient will be featured in various College publications including but not limited College homepage and big news
- The recipient will hold an honorary advisory position on the President’s Advisory Council on Diversity for the 2007-2008 academic year
