MCCC Retirees Association
Minutes of the May 2, 2006 Meeting
Jack Kilroy opened the meeting at 9:45 AM asking for nominations for Association officers.
The election results are as follows:
President: Jack Kilroy
Vice President: Roger Willig
Treasurer: John Long
Secretary: Roger Willig
In addition, George Phillips is the chairperson for the Travel and Entertainment Committee with additional members – Jack Kilroy, Roger Willig, Barbara Kollerm, and Mary Rosenberger.
John Long reported there is a balance of $2,231.35 in the Association bank account. A contribution was made to the MCCC Foundation in memory of James Campbell, Val Pasquarella, Jane Peacock and Emanuel Schwager. The Treasurer reported dues for 44 & 65 retirees are outstanding for 2005 and 2006 respectively.
Jack Kilroy inquired if the constitution had been approved. Since nobody in attendance at the meeting seemed to know for sure, the Executive Committee was directed to review the need for any changes, status of approval and type of legal entity, and report the information at the next meeting.
Diane Sulzbach reported that the College insurance consultant does not recommend retirees enroll for the new Medicare drug coverage since the College provides better coverage.
Representatives from the college Information Technology division, Shane Clark-Wallace and Leslie Valeria were invited to the meeting to discuss the possibility for having a link for the Retirees Association added to the College web site. There was a positive response. The Association should decide what information to include on the link. Roger Willig & Jack Kilroy were directed to meet with the Information Technology representatives to identify what should be included on the website link.
At the invitation of William Toplis the next meeting is schedule to be held at Meadowood Retirement Community in Worcester Pa. The meeting date and directions will be announced at a later date.
