English as a Second Language Program
All international students and new Americans are welcome to Montgomery County Community College. We currently have more than seven hundred English as A Second Language (ESL) students at the College, and we are happy to see the number increasing each year. Different cultures bring diverse experiences and ideas to the college community, and we are all enriched as a result.MCCC offers a variety of English as a Second Language courses, two-year undergraduate programs, and one-year certificates. Many of our unique programs are designed for transfer to four-year universities or colleges. Other programs prepare students for immediate employment. The college has day and evening course schedules, and courses offered by video or over the Internet, to fit both day and evening students' needs. The ESL/International Advising Specialist will be happy to help with program of study and course choices.
MCCC has a greatlocation, especially for international students. There are many places for sightseeing, entertainment, and cultural enrichment. The College is just 30 minutes from Philadelphia, 2 hours from New York city, and 2-3 hours from Baltimore and Washington DC.
MCCC does not have dormitory facilities; therefore, students are responsible for arranging their own housing. They may want to stay with friends, relatives or an American family while they are studying at MCCC. Apartments for rent (about $500-1000 per month) are located within a few miles radius.
