Frequently Asked Questions - Medical Laboratory Technician Program

How long is the wait to be accepted into the MLT Program?

There is no set waiting period. As soon as you complete the requirements for entry, you will be considered for acceptance. Since the number of students accepted each year is limited, however, those who also have prerequisites successfully completed will be considered first. You should, therefore, complete all pre-admission requirements and as many prerequisites as possible.

    When are acceptance decisions made?

Decisions are made during the Spring semester each year.

What courses should I take while waiting for acceptance into the program?

We recommend you take all prerequisite courses and all non-MLT courses listed in the program - especially all developmental courses. If you are planning eventually to enter a bachelor's degree program, you may wish to take liberal arts transfer courses. An advisor will help you with appropriate course selections.
