College Seminar - ORI 100

ORI 100  This one-credit college-level course provides an orientation to college life and an overview of college success strategies for new freshmen. The course instructor provides intensive, individualized advising for each student in the class. It is a required course for all students placing into two or more developmental courses. 
 
Students learn to: 
  • Assess abilities and interests
  • Set goals and make educational plans
  • Manage time, take notes, tests and study effectively
  • Understand their own learning styles 
  • Appreciate cultural diversity 
  • Use the college computers, library, learning assistance lab, career and college information services, and other resources
ORI 100 

Students receive:

  • Individual advising assistance from the course instructor throughout the semester
  • Midterm assessment of progress in all courses
