College Credit for High School Experience

Transferring Courses

Advisors can help you transfer another college's courses in to MCCC and transfer MCCC courses out to a four-year college or university.

FurtherYourEducation.com web site was developed to help guide students through the transfer process from a business, junior, or community college to a four-year college or university.

To Transfer Courses To MCCC

  1. Have the college or university send an official transcript to the Admissions Office at MCCC (whichever campus, Central or West, you plan on attending). Advisors will evaluate the transcript, add eligible courses to your MCCC transcript, and inform you in writing of the successful transfer to MCCC.
  2. While you are waiting for the official transcript to arrive, bring an unofficial copy to Advising. Advisors will review this with you and help you with course selections based on what will transfer here. Nothing will go on your MCCC transcript, however, until we receive the official copy.

To Transfer Courses From MCCC

  1. Make your transfer plans early - and with an advisor's help - so that you choose the MCCC courses that best transfer to the four-year college you have chosen.
  2. Check out our transfer guides for most of the local area colleges and universities.
The guides tell you how specific MCCC courses fulfill course requirements in your major at these four-year institutions.
  3. Take a look at our Partnership Agreements with Albright, Arcadia, Cabrini, Delaware Valley, Desales, Chestnut Hill, Gwynedd Mercy, Penn State - Abington, Philadelphia University Evening Programs, Rosemont, Temple, the University of Phoenix, and Villanova which let you complete your general education credits here and begin as a junior there. You may even be eligible for special scholarship assistance.
  4. Consider using the Academic Passport to see how MCCC credits transfer to our four-year Pennsylvania State System of Education schools.
