Tips To Help Yourself Stay Healthy Include
- Eat the right foods
- No single food or food group supplies all nutrients
- Avoid skipping meals
- Take healthy snacks to school to eat at break time or between classes
- Reduce intake of sugar, fatty foods, salt
- Increase intake of fiber, fresh fruits and vegetables, and fish and poultry
- Get enough exercise
- Use inside of campus building(s) or outside to increase walking
- Exercise safely to help prevent injury
- Choose exercise that appeals to you, so that you stick with it
- Consult your physician before starting exercise if you haven't been exercising regularly
- Manage stress
- Be realistic and set practical goals for yourself
- Learn techniques to help you relax during the day
- Organize your workload to use time and energy efficiently
- Improve your environment - little changes can help you feel in control and give you a lift
- Discuss problems with the people involved, or with a close friend before tensions build up
- Avoid making too many changes in your life at one time

- Avoid smoking--Tips to help you quit include:
- get rid of reminders, such as ashtrays and matches
- change smoking routines (for example - no cigarettes with coffee or after meals)
- join a support group
- avoid places where you usually smoke
- Limit alcohol and caffeine intake
