Department of Agriculture The Department helps to maintain farm income, expand agricultural markets abroad, fight hunger and improve the environment. Selective Links Economic Research Service The Service provides economic analysis and statistical materials on agriculture topics. Food Safety and Inspection Service This Service carries out federal mandatory inspection of animals and poultry at slaughter and throughout the processing of such animals and birds. National Agricultural Library The library is a major source for agricultural information. National Agricultural Statistics Service - Agriculture Census This Service collects agricultural information and conducts the Agriculture Census which is carried out every five years.
