Executive Office of the President

    The President is the administrative head of the Executive Branch of the Government which includes numerous agencies as well as the 15 executive departments (the Cabinet). The Executive Office advises the President, helps to formulate policy and performs the day to day operations of the President's agenda.

      Council of Economic Advisors
      The three member Council performs an analysis and appraisal of the national economy for the purpose of providing policy recommendations to the President.


      Council on Environmental Quality
      The Council formulates and recommends national policies to promote the improvement of the quality of the environment.


      National Security Council
      The Council advises and assists the President in integrating all aspects of national security policy - domestic, foreign, military, intelligence, and economic.


      Office of Management and Budget
      This Office works with agencies and departments to formulate and administer the Federal budget. It also provides the President with recommendations regarding budget proposals and relevant legislation.


      Office of National AIDS Policy
      This Office coordinates efforts to reduce the number of new cases of infection in the U.S. It also works to coordinate an integrated approach to the prevention, care and treatment of HIV/AIDS in the U.S. and abroad.


      Office of National Drug Control Policy
      This Office coordinates Federal, state, and local efforts to control illegal drug abuse and devises national policy and strategies to effectively carry out antidrug activities.
