Circulation/Reserve
For Students
- Books that are part of the Library’s circulating collection may
be borrowed at the Circulation Desk with a college ID card.
- Most books can be borrowed for 3 weeks.
- Audiovisual items that are part of the Audiovisual Library’s circulating
collection may be borrowed at the Audiovisual Circulation Desk with a
college ID card.
- Audiovisual items have various borrowing times; please ask at the desk.
- The Library maintains a limited collection of course textbooks at the
Circulation Desk for use in the library.
- The Reserve Collection at the Circulation Desk is made up of resources
that have been put on reserve by faculty for students to utilize during
the current semester. Most materials are available for use in the Library
only.

For Faculty
- To put an item on reserve please contact the Circulation Desk at the library at which you would like the item to be available.
- Reserve items are held for one semester. If you would like to renew
the item for another semester, please contact the Circulation Desk.
- If you wish to put an item on reserve it must either be available in
our collection, or you must provide us with the copy to be put on reserve.
If you would like us to order the item for the collection, please fill
out a Materials
Request form.
- The textbook collection is not comprehensive. Unfortunately our budget
does not cover all the textbooks needed for every class offered at MCCC.
If you would like to request the books for your class be added to our
textbook collection, please contact the Circulation Desk.

Reference
- The Library has a collection of resources such as special subject encyclopedias,
statistical sources, atlases, materials on contemporary issues and audiovisual
materials, for library research questions and general interest information.
- There is a team of reference librarians available to instruct students
and patrons in library research strategies and assist with locating materials.
- Assistance is available nearly all hours the library is open, including
evenings and weekends. Ask at the reference desk, call 215-641-6594, e-mail
refdesk@mc3.edu or send an instant message through AIM to mccclibrarian.

Periodicals
- Magazines, journals and newspapers are located in the Periodicals section
of the library.
- Periodicals are available in the following formats: current, bound, microfilm,
storage, and electronic.
- Current and bound periodicals are located on the shelves along the windows
in the periodicals department.
- The microfilm is located in the grey cabinets in the corner by the periodicals
desk, near the microfilm machines.
- If the periodical you are looking for is in storage, ask at the periodicals
desk for assistance.
- To find electronic periodicals, ask a librarian to show you the full-text
databases and indexes on our library home page.
