Home pages for universities and colleges throughout the world.  A geographical listing is  also available. 

 College and University Rankings
Online sources of information concerning college rankings.  There are links to many ranking services, along with cautionary notes and a discussion of the ongoing controversy over rankings.  The purpose of the site is to provide context to various ranking services, with the aim of improving knowledge about the rankings in general and encourage better use of these services. 

College Board Online
Offers College Board test dates for the SAT, Advanced Placement Program Examinations, and the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) as well as online SAT registration, online CSS/Financial Aid Profile registration, and a scholarship search engine for which you must fill out a profile.  Also features an online college search by degree type and then by fields of study, specific location, type of school, etc. 

 CollegeNet
Basic information on post-secondary schools in the U.S. and Canada.  Can search by type of institution and geographic location.  Also offers MACH 25 search database for over 600,000 scholarship awards and information on financial aid.  A search requires that you fill out a brief profile. 

 CollegeView
A database of 3,800 two- and four-year colleges with multimedia "tours" which give students and parents a complete picture of college life. 

 Petersons.com: The Education Supersite
A comprehensive site compiled by Peterson's, the well-known publisher of  reference books on education.  The site  features College Quest.com, a database offering in-depth college profiles from Peterson's and the Yale Daily News, scholarship and financial aid information, and online applications.  You must register to receive a free membership for access.  Other areas of the site contain graduate programs, study abroad programs, summer study and job programs. 

 US News.com: America's Best Colleges 2006
"U.S. News & World Report" annual rankings of national universities, liberal arts colleges, colleges and universities according to geographical area, and specialty schools.  You can search the college rankings by school name and by individual states.  Basic information is provided on each school with links to the college's website. 



Scholarship & Financial Aid Information

Educaid: Standard Entrance Seminar
The site is designed to help students understand rights and obligations for student loan borrowers and to provide information about the available sources of financial aid and the terms of the Federal Stafford and Perkins Loans.

FAFSA on the Web (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
This site takes the student through the steps of the Federal Student Aid application process.

fastweb (Financial Aid Search Through the Web)
A free searchable database of over 400,000 scholarships, grants, loans and fellowships.  You are asked to register with the database before you begin your search. You can also apply online for some of the scholarships. 

FinAid: The Smart Student Guide to Financial Aid
Provides general information on loans, scholarships, and financial aid, as well as "Frequently Asked Questions" about eligibility and applications. 

101 Top College, University and Scholarship Pages
The majority of  sites for are for scholarships and financial aid, but there are also links for general sites on colleges and universities, examinations for undergraduate and graduate study, and international study.

This website provides information on the International Studies Certificate.

Montgomery County Community College: Study Abroad
This page features information on the College's summer study abroad program which this year will be in Madrid, Spain, with excursions to Toledo, Granada, Sevilla, Salmanca, and Segovia.

Community College of Philadelphia (CCP): International Education and Studies
CCP is a partnering institution with Montgomery County Community College in summer study abroad programs. Here you will find information on the London program.

Centers for Academic Programs Abroad (CAPA)
CAPA is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is the "development of international education for American universities and colleges." MCCC is partnering with CAPA to offer its study abroad programs. The website offers sections on Colleges & Universities, Student Information, Faculty Information, and Health & Safety Abroad. It also presents Financial Aid - Frequently Asked Questions.

CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange
Presents a wealth of information on Travel (student airfares, rail passes, and International Identity Cards); Exchanges (secondary programs, language courses, internships, and work abroad); and International Study Programs (study abroad, faculty seminars and professional programs).  The site is published by the CIEE, whose mission is to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. 

Go Abroad.com
This website is devoted to information on international student travel. Presents data on studying, interning, volunteering, and working abroad as well as language schools, eco and high school programs. In addition, there are "Travel Resources" with information on visa requirements, travel guides, embassies, currency conversion, travel insurance and hostels, and "Travel Tools" with details on phonecards, student flights, rail passes, and international ID cards.

Institute of International Education: IIE Passport - Living and Learning Abroad
Offers listings for thousands of study abroad programs for U.S. students and adult learners.  You may enter a user profile to become a "registered user" so that you may save searches.  However, this is not necessary to search the database by geographic region and by hundreds of subjects for study.

International Scholarships Online
The site claims to be "the most comprehensive listing of grants, scholarships, loan programs, and other information to assist college and university students in their pursuit to study abroad."

Peterson's Study Abroad
This site is compiled by Peterson's, a publisher of educational guides. It allows you to search for regular semester or summer programs by sponsor, location, and type of program.

Studyabroad.com
Offers listings for thousands of study abroad programs in more than 100 countries, as well as links to study abroad program home pages, and information useful to the prospective student. Includes sections on Reasons for Studying Abroad, Selecting the Program for You, Before You Leave Home, Living Abroad, and Reentry.

You may search for programs by keyword, location or category. In addition, there are links to information on financial aid and scholarships, health and safety, international cell phone services, packing and preparation, and rail passes.

Presents extensive information on thousands of academic programs, overseas universities, study abroad programs, and language schools around the world.   Searchable by country or by subject.  Included are addresses of embassies abroad and a currency exchange tool.
