Fitness Partner Connection Jumpsite!
Offers a "Fitness Library" with training ideas and techniques, strategies for weight management and healthy eating, and information on fitness equipment and books.  Also provides an activity calorie calculator to learn how many calories your body burns while exercising or in daily activities.

Human Kinetics
The website for Human Kinetics, a book publisher, offers information primarily on their books and online programs.  However, the site also lists job advertisements, conferences and links to other web sites on sport and fitness topics.

National Athletic Trainers' Association
Provides information about the professional association, its publications, and meetings as well as employment opportunities and links to related websites.

NetSweat.com:  The Internet's Fitness Resource
Presents fitness and nutrition links, advice, and articles from "Men's Health Magazine."  Also includes "Fitness Instructor Frequently Asked Questions."

PE Central: The Web Site for Health and Physical Educators 
Provides information about contemporary, developmentally appropriate physical education programs for children and youth.  Offers lesson and assessment ideas and classroom management information.

Premier Fitness & Wellness Online
Offers periodic health assessments, daily health tips, and the creation of an exercise program.  You can fill out the RiscCalc program, which considers family history and lifestyle habits to create a personal wellness profile.

Shape Up America
Presents the latest information on safe weight management, healthy eating, and physical fitness.

SPORTQuest
This is a Canadian website which is an online search engine and directory of websites on sport and fitness.  A Topics and Resources directory includes such categories as Statistics or Associations in the General area; Sports Sciences, Coaching and Training, Physical Educaton, and General Fitness in the Sports Science Section; and Universities and Colleges, Disabled, and Women in the Special Interest section.  Also offers searching by key word.  Advanced search allows searching using two terms as well as the selection of a particular sport.

Sports Media
SportsMedia is an international, nonprofit organization of physical education teachers, coaches, and educators.  Aims to be a tool for PE teachers, coaches, and students interested in PE, health, fitness, nutrition, and sports.  Offers lesson plans and links to other physical education sites.

Cyberdiet
Compiled by a registered dietician, the site allows you to outline your ideal calorie and nutrient requirements, figure out daily meals with an interactive Food Planner, and pinpoint the fat and calorie content of popular fast foods.  Also offers information on exercise.

International Food Information Council
In the "Food Safety and Nutrition" area of the site are sections on "Adult Nutrition, Health, and Physical Activity," "Child/Adolescent Nutrition, Health and Physical Activity," "Sugars and Low Calorie Sweeteners," and "Food Allergy and Asthma," among others.

Mayo Health Oasis: Nutrition Center
Compiled by the Mayo Clinic, this site presents excellent reference articles on diet and nutrition, a virtual cookbook, and a quiz which tests nutrition knowledge.  Site is searchable by subject.

This site explains the new U.S. government Food Pyramid which allows you to personalize how many calories and the number of food group servings needed to maintain healthy weight.

Anorexia Nervosa: Judy's Story
This website was created by 31-year-old Judy Sargent, who is a recovered anorexic.  Offers a list of books on the disorder; "Frequently Asked Questions" about her personal experience; diagnostic criteria for eating disorders; and links for online support, eating disorder organizations, and treatment centers.

ANRED (Anorexia Nervosa and Related Eating Disorders)
Compiled by a nonprofit organization (ANRED), this site offers information about anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and compulsive exercising.  Presents statistics on the disorders, and explores the warning signs, medical problems, psychological complications, causes, treatment, and recovery.

Caring Online: Eating Disorders
Provides sections on "Body Image," "Biological Aspects," "How to Cope," "Online Support," and "Poetry" concerning eating disorders.

Eating Disorder Referral and Information Center
Presents information and treatment resources for all forms of eating disorders.  Specific subjects include:  anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorders, compulsive overeating, a self-test, nutrition, facing food fears, body image, medications, and affirmations.  Each section lists sources from which the information has been taken.  The site also provides referrals to eating disorder practioners, treatment facilities, and support groups in particular geographic areas. The National Eating Disorder Information Centre
The "Question and Answer" section presents comprehensive information.  The Centre is located in Toronto, Canada. 

The National Eating Disorders Association 
The "Eating Disorders Info" section offers a wealth of information on eating disorders.  The site is provided  by the National Eating Disorders Association  based in Seattle, Washington.
