Electronic Resources and Services
by Gretchen Keer, Electronic Resources Librarian

This semester, we are rolling out some new tutorials to help students learn how to do research. Take a look at the Information Literacy page on the Library web site at http://www.mc3.edu/sa/lib/infolit.htm for links to the tutorials, and, in some cases, to the assignments associated with select student Library research projects. If any faculty members are interested in working with the Library to develop an Information Literacy tutorial for their discipline, please contact me (gkeer@mc3.edu or X 6592) or Mary Beth Parkinson, Information Literacy Librarian (mparkins@mc3.edu or X 7480).
Distance learning students may be interested to know that for the past few semesters the Library has been offering online help via Instant Messenger (IM). If you have a question about how to find a book or an article, or if you’re in the middle of doing some research and need help, you can talk to a librarian by sending an IM (through AOL’s Instant Messenger) to screenname mccc_librarian. More information about this service is available at http://www.mc3.edu/sa/lib/im.htm.
Remember to keep your eye on the Library blog, Blogos (http://weblog.mc3.edu), for more news about Library programs, services, special hours, events, and research tips!
