    Refrence Desk

A New Semester is Upon Us:
Welcome or welcome back for the fall semester at Montgomery County Community College. If you have any type of reference question, please do not hesitate to ask a reference librarian. At the Blue Bell campus, you may visit the reference desk in The Brendlinger Library, call (215) 641-6594, e-mail refdesk@mc3.edu, or send an instant message to mccclibrarian through AOL.

    Locating Reference Items:
When you find a physical reference item of interest in the library’s electronic catalog, you may be a bit confused by the corresponding Library of Congress Classification (for example, REF NC1766.U5 L46 1999 represents the Encyclopedia of Animated Cartoons). In order to help you locate an item more easily, signs with text and pictures representing the contents of each unit of shelving have been placed throughout the reference area. If you take a look at the reference section and continue to be baffled, please ask a reference librarian for assistance.

New and Notable in the Reference Collection:
    Criminal Justice (REF KF9214.5.C75 2006)

    Encyclopedia Americana (REF AE5.E333 2006)
The thirty volume 2006 paper edition has arrived, and an electronic version will be available for the fall semester. This set is terrific for basic background information on a wide array of topics.

Encyclopedia of Rap and Hip Hop Culture (REF ML102.R27 B96 2006)
