Library Liaison Program

by Mary Beth Parkinson, Information Literacy Librarian

This past Spring term, the librarians of The Brendlinger Library launched a library liaison program.  One or two librarians serve as a point of contact for each division dean, coordinators, and faculty.  The goal of this program is not only to keep faculty informed of new library resources and services, but also to better understand and meet the needs of our deans, faculty, and students.  To facilitate this, librarians would appreciate the opportunity to attend division meetings and/or meetings of division coordinators for a small portion of the meeting.  Such meetings present an appropriate forum for answering questions and hearing from the faculty suggestions on how we can alter, expand, improve or introduce new services to better meet the needs of our faculty and students.  We will also gladly accept invitations to other occasions that offer the opportunity to speak with faculty!

Division liaisons are as follows:

Business and Computer Science – Robert Erb (x6622) and Lisa McColl (x6587)
Health Sciences – Ruth McNaught (x6595)
Humanities – Mary Beth Parkinson (x7480) and Mary Lou Neighbour (x7355)
Math, Science, and Technology – Gretchen Keer (x6592)
Social Sciences – Lawrence Greene (x7352)

Faculty are invited and encouraged to contact their librarian liaison at any time.  We, library liaisons, in return, want to thank those faculty who have recently helped the Library evaluate particular areas of the print collection.  With the input of the faculty subject specialists, we are creating a better Library collection.
