Government Documents Information
by Ruth McNaught, Public Services Librarian/Government Documents
Are you aware that there is quick and easy access to certain U. S. Government databases from the Library's own homepage? From the Library's homepage at http://www.mc3.edu/sa/lib/lrc.htm , select Government Documents. You will see a screen with a menu of branches of government and their agencies listed. On the right-hand side of the screen is a list of Quick Links. Various well-known databases which the government sponsors are found here. You can click on World Factbook , Economic Report of the President or Federal Register and immediately be ready to use the particular resource.
A new site which is on Quick Links is the Historical Statistics of the U.S. : Colonial Times to 1970 . This is a document that has been the "standard" for years, in print reference collections, for providing early statistics about our country. It is provided by the U.S. Census Bureau.
