Recent acquisitions to the reference collection include:

Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Second Edition from Macmillan Reference USA (2006) – This ten-volume set is a long-awaited update to the eight-volume 1967 first edition. From abortion to education to music, this resource presents the philosophical angle on numerous topics. As can be seen by searching the Library’s catalog, the Encyclopedia of Philosophy is available in both electronic and print format. [REF B51.E53 2006]

J.K. Lasser’s Your Income Tax 2006 from John Wiley & Sons (2005) – Yes, it is that time of the year again! [REF HJ 4652.J2 2006]

NetLibrary – In addition to thousands of complete electronic books on a variety of subjects, NetLibrary offers a Reference Center that allows access to a wide array of dictionaries, encyclopedias, and handbooks. NetLibrary may be accessed from the Electronic Resources page of the Libraries. Also, records for individual titles are in our online catalog, with clickable links to the individual NetLibrary title.

Nurses Drug Guide 2006 by Wilson, Shannon, and Stang (2006) – Current information on prescription drugs and their administration is included in this guide.
    [REF RM301.12.P73 2006]

The Superhero Book from Visible Ink Press (2004) – Details regarding the heroes of comic-book fantasy are included in this encyclopedia. [REF P96.H46S87 2004]

The World Almanac and Book of Facts 2006 from World Almanac Books (2006) – Can there be a single volume crammed with more facts? [REF AY67.N5W7 2006]

Xreferplus – This database provides a wealth of reference information across many disciplines. One of the features that may be of particular interest is the Concept Map that is available for each entry. The Concept Map reveals topics (and links) related to the entry at hand. Clicking on links of interest on each Concept Map may seem a bit like a video game at first, but persistence has its rewards. Xreferplus may be accessed from the Electronic Resources page of the Libraries. Also, records for the individual titles are in our online catalog, from where you can click the appropriate link to the electronic reference source.
