    West Campus Learning Assistance Lab

    Sandi Gill, Tutorial Coordinator

The West Campus Learning Assistance Lab provides free academic tutoring to any Montgomery County Community College student on a drop-in basis. Our highest demand areas are mathematics, chemistry, and English and other writing courses. This semester we welcome back 15 peer, paraprofessional, and professional tutors and 3 faculty members.

    Tutor and Student

Last summer, our Anatomy & Physiology tutors welcomed “Red”—a 3-foot tall skeleton. Red joins anatomy flashcards, a molecule kit, a set of playing cards, dice, assorted rulers and calculators, a colorful periodic chart (see photo of tutor Michelle Arnold and WC student Donna Bartram), and other learning tools.

In addition to the full LAL-West schedule available on the College web page, we offer colorful “minischedules” and handouts. Math students appreciate not only the yellow math minis but also the many yellow math handouts. Come and see all our colors: pink for English, salmon for science, goldenrod for history, and more.

Please drop by and enjoy our LAL.
