Retirements

The close of the 2006 Fall semester ended a chapter of West Campus Library
history with the retirements of two long-tenured individuals and frequent
contributors to Notes & Quotes, Dr. Marie Devine and Sandra Gill.
Dr. Devine was an Assistant Director of the Library in charge of the West Campus Library since its inception in 1996. Last spring she was honored with a career achievement award. She is pictured here with College Nurse, Grace Spena and Director of Libraries, Diane Lovelace.
Sandra Gill was the tutorial coordinator of the Learning Assistance Lab for nearly ten years. She was responsible for several new teaching initiatives, and continues to assist in the transition.

Peirce Law Books at West Library
The newest stack of shelves added to the West Library is the result of a collaborative effort between Montgomery County Community College and Peirce College. This collection of law sources includes the Atlantic Reporter, Purdon’s Pennsylvania Statutes, and the Pennsylvania Digest. These resources and others are intended for the new Paralegal program at the University Center in Pottstown.

Winner of the West Library Student Art Contest
This past December, art student, Jane Rothmel, submitted the winning entry, “Shapes,” in the first-ever West Library Student Art Contest. The Student Government Association provided the judges and Rothmel’s prize, a $100 gift certificate for art supplies. “Shapes” is on display in the Library.
