What is a peer-reviewed (scholarly) article?
Scholarly articles are research articles that are reviewed, authored and published by experts in the field of psychology. They feature an abstract, or brief summary, at the beginning of the article as well as a list of references at the end of the article.
Peer-reviewed journal literature is very important to the discipline of psychology. People who work, conduct research, and study in the field of psychology depend on this literature to follow current trends, thinking, and discoveries. Since scholarly articles are written for a special audience, they are notably different from articles published in general interest or popular publications.
