Peer-reviewed articles and APA format
If you are writing a paper, you will need to cite your sources within the text of your paper when paraphrasing, attributing the ideas of, or quoting from your sources. To learn how to do this, please see APA Style Guide: Citations in Text. This powerpoint tutorial represents a piece of a more comprehensive presentation by Dr. Ann Marie Donohue, Professor of Psychology, Montgomery County Community College.
You may want to consult the current edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (several copies are on reserve in the Library and you can buy it at the bookstore) to check the format of the citation.
