About MCCC Student Government

To quote the Constitution, "The primary purpose of this organization, as a representative student government, is to act as a liaison to the faculty, administration, and staff on behalf of the student body. Our responsibility is to listen to and, when appropriate, act upon the suggestions and concerns expressed by the student body, to foster recognition of student rights and the College’s responsibilities to the students, to act in the students' best interests when participating in the development of College policy and sitting on College committees, and to demonstrate leadership, honesty, loyalty and integrity by our actions.

More specifically, our responsibilities are: To represent the student body on College committees and when requested, at College events and programs; to encourage activities of a social, cultural and civic nature to develop and maintain a College and community spirit; to allocate and oversee Student Activities funds that are distributed to clubs that promote the interests of the student body.

Once again, this time in English. We the Student Government, are here to listen to and act upon suggestions and complaints made by students. We contact the administration and faculty about student issues as well as represent students on administration and faculty committees. We demonstrate our leadership and commitment by hosting the Red Cross Blood Drive each Spring and Fall, as well as, attending national student conferences to represent our school to our legislators. We also oversee the distribution of the Student Activities funds to the different clubs on campus.
