Additional Contest Rules and Information

  1. To be eligible for this year's contest, you must have been a (credit or non-credit, full-time or part-time) student at MCCC during the calendar year from mid-May 2008 to March 24, 2009. This approximately one-year period of time includes summer sessions 2008, fall semester 2008, and spring semester 2009. You must have taken at least one credit or non-credit course (in any subject matter) at MCCC during that specified time period.
  2. Artwork that you completed earlier than the time period stated above may be submitted to this year's contest (so long as you have been a student at MCCC during the time period specified above).
  3. You may submit multiple entries to the contest.
  4. On Blue Bell Campus, submit your entry to Social Science (Parkhouse 227).
    On Pottstown Campus, submit your artwork to Academic Affairs.

  5. When you submit your artwork, you must fill out an entry form. On the top of this page, there is a link to a blank entry form so that you can see what the form looks like. On the entry form, you will need to state the social justice theme that you are illustrating.
  6. If you wish to give your artwork a title in addition to stating the theme, you may do so on the entry form.
  7. We understand that the MCCC Art Faculty holds a Student Art Show/Competition every spring, with a due date that is approximately two weeks after the STARS due date. If you need to borrow your artwork in April to enter the same piece in the MCCC Art Faculty’s show, call 215-641-6426 and we will arrange it. This applies mainly to entries by fine artists, as graphic artists may have multiple copies of his entry to submit to other contests as desired.
  8. Winners will be notified by letter within 10 days of the due date. Artists who do not win will also be notified by letter and may arrange to pick up their entry at that time.
