Choosing a Theme about Social Justice

Your task in entering our contest is to illustrate any theme related to social justice. The choice of theme is yours. In the past, students have submitted artwork that illustrates the following themes.

  • Diversity and Justice in the United States
  • The Meaning of Freedom
  • An End to Hate
  • The Civil Rights Movement
  • Women's Concerns Worldwide
  • Non-Discrimination in the Arts

You could choose one of these themes to illustrate or you could decide to illustrate a theme that has not been used before.

While we hope that the above examples will jump-start your thinking about different kinds of social justice, we emphasize that these examples are just a guide and that you have complete freedom to use your art to speak for social justice in any way that seems meaningful to you.
