Dodgeball Tournament (4V4)- Rules
General
The object of the game is to eliminate all of the opposing players by getting them out. Players are out by one of two (2) ways:
- Hitting the opposing player with a thrown ball below the shoulders. No head shots allowed. 2 head shots in a game will eliminate the offender.
- Catching a thrown ball by an opponent. One player from the catchers team may re-enter the game.
Eligibility
- All players must be currently registered MCCC students.
Equipment
- All players must wear appropriate attire.
- Sneakers must be worn.
- Street clothes are not allowed.
- No jewelry allowed.
- The College provides all necessary equipment.
Players
- All players must be MCCC students.
- All players must show their student ID and sign-in.
- A team roster will consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 6. .
- Teams attempting to register a non-student will be prohibited from participating.
Play
- The playing field is 60’X30’ divided into 2 equal sections by the center cones.
- The 1st team to win 2 out of 3 games is the winner.
- Four dodgeballs are placed at the center line.
- The referee will start the game.
- Teams rush for possession of the dodgeballs.
- You must retreat passed the attack line before you may begin throwing.
- You may not throw from outside the boundary lines but you may hit an opponent that is out of play.
- You may not catch a rebounded ball off of the back wall but you may catch a rebounded ball off of a teammate.
- If a team controls all 4 balls, they have 5 seconds to throw 1 ball.
- This is for the fun and enjoyment of everyone involved.
Miscellaneous
- All players must enter their name and ID number on the sign-in sheet prior playing.
- The Intramural Office does not provide insurance and assumes no responsibility for injuries occurring during Intramural Sports. For Health insurance information contact Health Services in College Hall 221.
- All injuries no matter how minor must be reported to the scorer's table.
Results
Congratulations to TEAM COLE for winning MCCC’s 1st dodgeball tournament beating TEAM BACH in the finals by a score of 2-1.
