Her college major was Modern European History with an emphasis on Russian History of the late19th century.

Her research and teaching interests include the cultural history of Modern Russia, Russian Gender Studies, and Modern History of Eastern Asia. She has had numerous scholarly articles published in her home country of Russia, and she has also presented research papers at the Russian and North American academic conventions. Dr. Raskin is an active member of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies. In 2006, she received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for her research in visual cultures of Eastern Slavs.

Dr. Raskin started her tenure as an instructor of history at Montgomery County Community College in the fall of 2005. She teaches such courses as Modern and Medieval History of Western Civilization, Asian History, and History of Russia.

In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Raskin is also one of the organizers and a current advisor of the students’ History Club and is also an active member of the Speaker’s Bureau of Montgomery County Community College. She has been invited to speak at several off-campus sites. As a volunteer, Dr. Raskin has also presented a series of lectures in History of Russian Art at the Jewish Community Center of Philadelphia—Klein Branch.
