What is a 'career' program?

    Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree programs at Montgomery County Community college effectively prepare students for immediate career opportunities and employment entry. A combination of traditional college core courses and specific occupational skill training both in and out of the classroom provides students with the acquisition of up-to-date knowledge of their specific choice of study, and greatly enhances their employability. There are also two types of Certificate Programs available at MCCC: the Career Certificate programs and the Specialty Certificate programs.

Where can I go to conduct personal career research at MCCC? What resources can I find there?

    Visit the MCCC Career Resource Room in the Counseling Center on the Central Campus to conduct personal career research using the newest texts, software programs and computer sites, videos, CD's and more. Many resources are available here for those interested in exploring career opportunities, schools/college information as well as job search resources. Computer and video based resources are available for those interested in an interactive view of careers, schools, colleges and personal skills. Career exploration and planning workshops are offered throughout the semester in the Counseling Center Resource Room.
