Strategies for Success

This workshop is for those students who think they “are not very good at math” and are nervous about taking math courses. You will learn key study skills to get a jump on mastering the course content in your math classes to get on the road to earn better grades.

Are you worried about how you are going to pay for your college expenses? This important session will answer your questions on how to apply for financial aid and complete all the required forms on time. Helpful hints on how to manage your money will also be reviewed.
       
Getting into a Study Group 2/18/08   Peer Mentor
Do you feel lost sometimes in how to study for a quiz or exam? This workshop will explain the importance of study groups and how to form or join one. Studying with a group of other students will help you understand your course content and be better prepared for taking those important tests.

Do you have the credit card blues and are in debt? Attend this workshop to learn how to get a handle on your finances and manage your money. Tips for making good investments and saving money will also be discussed to contribute to your financial health.

This session will address the importance of getting along with others and recognizing the variety of cultural and life experiences of the students in your classes. You will learn why it is important to embrace the different races, ethnicity, ages, abilities, religion, sexual orientation, and countries of origin represented in the college population and explore ways to foster a sense of belonging.
