Purpose
ServSafe® training sets the industry standard in food safety training and certification.
Program Description
ServSafe® Initial Certification is a 16 hour program approved by the Montgomery County Health Department. This is also an approved waiver for Chester County. The ServSafe® One Day course is the same course as the regular Initial Certification class, but students have the option of doing 8 hours of self-study and 8 hours in the classroom. Students will take the same exam as the ServSafe Initial Certification class. ServSafe® Re-Certification is a 6-hour program required to maintain or renew licensing of food establishments in the county. ServSafe® Food Safety Examination Re-Test program is for those who completed the online course or need to retest for their ServSafe Certification. Examinations are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, French, Japanese and large print. Students must specify at least two weeks in advance if they require a language other than English.
Primary Goals
Provide required training and certification for food handlers as required by the State of Pennsylvania.
Consideration for Industry Certification
Upon successful completion, participants will receive their ServSafe Certification.

PREREQUISITES
ServSafe® Re-Certification requires a current certificate (issued less than 3 years from the date of the course you take) for ServSafe National Registry of Safe Food Professionals or Thompson Prometric must be presented to the instructor to take the course.
Recognition of Completion: A certificate of program completion will be awarded by the College.
