Wastewater Treatment Operator

The Pennsylvania (PA) Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), working in conjunction with Montgomery County Community College, developed a 180-hours certification program designed to help certify new operators in this high demand field. The program is available at the Central and West Campus.

The program utilizes DEP approved curriculum, DEP certified instructors, certified operators, or those educated and well-qualified in the topics.It provides course work, hands-on training in labs, on-site visits to facilities with classroom component, interactive class discussion with current certified operators, out-of-class assignments, module-end exams, and comprehensive proctored certification exam provided by the DEP.

Course modules can be taken as continuing education units (CEUs) for currently certified operators necessary to maintain their certifications.
