Starting a Successful Woman-Owned Business Certificate

Purpose

This program is designed for women to develop their prospective business ideas into a successful business concept and plan. It is also geared towards women that own an enterprise but want to make it more viable.

Program Description

This program provides practical knowledge about what it takes to make it as a business owner while being exposed to experts across a wide range of business topics. Participants go through a business planning process from conception to creation of a new venture. Participants learn how to increase their chances for success and the importance of having a vision, strategy, and structure. The program includes an overview of marketing research, financial management, sources of financing, marketing strategies, tax ramifications, and business structures. The 36 hour program is one evening per week for 12 weeks, 3 hours per night.

Primary Goals

Students will go through a business planning process and understand the components of a successful business plan.

Starting a Successful Woman-Owned Business Course Code # BICBC 1500

PREREQUISITE: There are no prerequisites.

Recognition of Completion: A certificate of program completion will be awarded by the College, once a business plan is completed.
