Physical Fitness Pre-Test

A recent change made by the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission, dictates that we must also make an immediate change to our entrance procedure. The new procedure will take effect immediately.

All applicants are required to take a 4 step physical fitness test. This consists of

1.5 mile run 13 minutes 8 seconds (outdoor course)
1 minute sit-ups 35 reps
bench press 93% of body weight
300 meter run 62.1 seconds (outdoor course)

The above scores are based on an 18-29 years-of-age male. Older and female applicant’s results will be adjusted according to the Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research. This PHYSICAL FITNESS PRE-TEST is scored at the 30th percentile. However, if accepted into the Academy Program, cadets will receive their final test at the 50th percentile.

If you have not participated in any physical activity in the immediate past, it is HIGHLY suggested that you start a program immediately. FAILURE IN ANY ONE AREA WILL DISQUALIFY YOU AS A CANDIDATE.
