Napoleon Nelson is the newly elected Finance Officer for the Cheltenham Township. He is a finance professional with more than 16 years of business experience in investment analysis, planning and analysis, and corporate strategy. He is also the founder of Market Literacy Project, a venture that has created a suite of financial literacy materials, gaming concepts and corresponding lesson plans to help students develop skills to be better consumers, producers, creators and business leaders.
Prior experiences include roles with Vanguard in Malvern, Pa., Driven Brands in King of Prussia, Pa, and SEI Investments in Oaks, Pa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Nelson is active in the Cheltenham community. Prior to his 2017 election to the Finance Officer role, he served for six years as a member of the Board of Directors of the School District of Cheltenham Township. He chaired the board's Finance and Personnel committees and served as past president of the Board.
