The Baking Summer Camp for Junior Chefs offers your child the opportunity to get hands-on with baking and pastry arts while learning from experienced Chef Instructors from The Culinary Arts Institute (CAI). Enroll your camper in our one-week program where they will receive the foundations of baking and improve their skills in the kitchen while making delicious pies, cakes and cookies.

July 20-24: Wednesday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
July 25-29: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

COVID Protocols

This camp is subject to the same COVID-19 protocols at the College itself, which closely adheres to county and national guidelines. We anticipate continued social distancing for the 2022 camp, but parents/guardians should check the College protocols for the most up to date guidance for campus activities.

What will my child learn from this experience?

Campers will learn the foundations of baking to improve their skills in the kitchen. By the end of the week your camper will have made delicious pies, cakes and cookies under the instruction of experienced CAI Chef Instructors.

Will my child be outside during the day?

No, campers will remain inside of the facility.

Will you take any field trips?

No, there are no field trips planned for this camp.

What should I pack for my child?

No items are required, however all campers should wear closed-toe shoes, long hair should be tied back, and no tank tops should be worn.

Lunch, snacks and water are provided daily.

What time can I drop my child off? Do you have a late pickup policy?

Parents and guardians can drop the Jr. Chefs off to CAI between 8 and 9 a.m.

Jr. Chefs can be picked up on longer days between 4 and 4:30 p.m. On shorter days pickup is between 1 and 1:30 p.m.

What is the camper-to-teacher ratio?

One teacher will be with a group of up to 14 campers.

What qualifications do your teacher possess?

Our camp leaders are professional chefs with years of culinary experience.
