The Amazing Arts Race 2018

For children ages 7 – 10 who are creative, curious and imaginative, The Amazing Arts Race multimedia experience is the camp for them. This visual, performing and media arts camp is hosted in collaboration with the St. Augustine Academy of Norristown Monday through Friday at Central Campus in Blue Bell.

BIOMAN Academy

Biotechnology Workshop for High School Students

Join us for this incredible National Science Foundation-funded experience! The BIOMAN Academy is hosted by Montgomery County Community College and taught by industry experts Dr. Maggie Bryans, Associate Professor of Biotechnology, and Dr. Matt Marshall, Program Manager of the Northeast Biomanufacturing Center and Collaborative.

  • Learn about careers in the biosciences
  • Perform hands-on experiments on industry-grade biotechnology equipment
  • Manipulate DNA and purify proteins
  • Grow bacterial and mammalian cells

Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Participation in all four days is required.

Ages: Open to 12 rising sophomores, juniors and seniors who have taken at least one biology course

Culinary Arts summer camp

The Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) is offering one-week culinary camps to students, ages 10 – 14 and 14 – 17 years, who are interested in the culinary arts. These camps are taught by CAI instructors who have years of industry experience.

Students will review basic skills and experience hands-on classes that will highlight global cuisine from appetizers to desserts. They will be handling knives and other equipment in the kitchen so it is essential that they follow the instructors’ directions. Each day will culminate with a presentation of the food prepared by students using the techniques learned. Students will receive a certificate of completion and a special CAI gift.

Baking for You (10+)

Whether you are just getting started or have experience in the kitchen, Baking for You will help improve your baking skills. This Junior Chefs baking camp will introduce and develop techniques as you make cookies, pies, cakes and cupcakes. You will learn how a professional baking and pastry kitchen works as you create delicious treats.

This culinary camp will introduce you to the world of barbecue and grilling, covering the ins and outs of regional American BBQ and the importance of proper grilling techniques. Everything from sauces and sides to starters and sweets will be presented and prepared giving you a good foundation so you can further explore barbecue creations on your own.

If you have a good understanding of the basics and want to grow your skills, this baking camp is for you. You will learn about the importance of mixing and baking techniques and how to assemble and decorate your creations. You also will make holiday cookies and desserts and learn about the art of presentation. Baking 2.0 provides all of the fun, excitement and learning that will take you and your creations to the next level.
