Medical Billing Specialist Certificate Program (BICEC 1153)

This 178-hour program will provide a foundation in medical billing and medical administrative support functions. Training in basic claims processes for medical insurance and third party reimbursements is provided. The program includes an introduction to medical terminology, CPT4 and ICD10 coding. Students will learn the customer service skills as well as the support functions needed by medical front offices. Students will review the standard techniques for Electronic Health Records (EHR). A refresher on Microsoft Word and Excel functions will be provided. The Medical Billing/Medical Receptionist Certificate Program is a modular program which includes workplace skills, business software, medical terminology, medical billing and coding, and job search skills. Upon successful completion, participants will qualify to take the national certification exam for Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
