Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (BICEC 3002)

To prepare students to execute Lean Six Sigma Green Belt projects and prepare students for content knowledge to take ASQ's Six Sigma Green Belt exam. Learners are able to help with Black Belt-level projects. Lean Six Sigma is about understanding and removing sources of variation in a business process and learning to solve problems with an unknown root cause. It accomplishes this by using good project tools and a rigorous understanding of process and data sources in the business. By following the Six Sigma DMAIC Methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) students will learn analytical and project management skills. Specific process tools like project charter development, measurement plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, graphical methods of data analysis, Lean tools, and Control Plans enable the learner to understand the process and data sources being used by the business analyzing the data. This course is for anyone seeking to gain proficiency in their knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and terms and how it can help drive business improvement. It is for people who want to get more control over their business environment and solve problems.
